People affected by the war in Northern Ethiopia have been provided with relief worth 6 million birr by Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA), including school materials and Minute Maid juice.
The materials were handed over to Atse Yohannes School, Mekele Hospital, and two IDP centres in Tigray Region when CCBA in Ethiopia MD, Daryl Wilson visited the war-affected area.
He pledged to work with outlets and small businesses as they strive to build the economy in difficult circumstances.
CCBA in Ethiopia also donated to the drought-affected areas of Oromia and the Ethiopia-Somali region earlier this year.
Wilson said the company used its industry leadership to be part of the solution to achieve positive change in the world and to build a more sustainable future.
“Our aim is to create greater shared opportunity for the business and the communities we serve across the value-chain. Opportunity is more than just money, it’s about a better future for people and their communities everywhere on the African continent.
“People matter. Our planet matters. We believe in doing business the right way by following our values and working toward solutions that benefit us all. Profitability is important, but not at any cost,” said Wilson.
“When we grow our business the right way, not just the easy way, we help create inclusive growth opportunities for our communities, women and youth, our customers, our employees and our shareholders, for a better shared future.”
“We will continue using our focus on creating a better shared future to grow and sustain small businesses and enhance livelihoods, resulting in increased economic value and business capability for communities and our business system,” Wilson said.
